currently listening: the national.

Happy Friday! Yet another week has flown by (that seems to happen these days, now that my life lacks significant ongoings) and things are still ho-hum. Upon receiving heaps of disparaging news this week, I've really just needed to mellow out and enjoy the good things that I do have in my life. One of those is MUSIC.

Can't stop listening to The National these days. I was first introduced to them almost two years ago, but it took me a while to get into their stuff. You know how sometimes you'll get new music, listen to it once or twice, then it sits unloved and gathering hypothetical dust in your itunes for ages? Then one day you go, "man, this is GOOD. Why haven't I been listening to this?!" That's sort of what happened with The National. Dave talked me into seeing them at Cain's in Tulsa last spring and a live performance did it for me. There's a subtle energy in their music that I whole heartedly relate to. The track "Baby, We'll Be Fine" from Alligator makes my heart stop a little.

Oh and this poster kills me.

Give 'em a listen. Totally worthwhile.

Cheers,
SK
