music saves

Went to a Rogue Wave show the other night. Those guys were so cool, so down to earth. It's so refreshing to find musicians who make music because it's what they truly love. They put so much passion, so much feeling into their work, it was awe-inspiring.

I was dying to get a shot of Pat Spurgeon in front of this flag, and he gladly obliged. Not only is it the epitome of of Americanism (Bud in hand), but it is also quite appropriate for the song 'stars and stripes' from their newest album. Thanks, Rogue Wave, for a groovy night.

mutt of the hour.

What is it about lovey canine friends that can make people so incredibly happy? Mine never fails to reveal my pearly whites.

Tuesdays are always the same. Work, class, blah...blah...blah...the daily required activities can leave me feeling suffocated. Fortunately, coming home to my fluffy, ridiculously excitable mutt helps me surface for air.

The highly energetic aspect of Miss Myrtle can pose quite the predicament at times, as I tend to be rather mellow after such tornadic days. Today's solution? A bike ride, of course! Myrty very much enjoys sprinting alongside my spokes. Oh to be satisfied by the little things in life. We could all take a lesson. In fact, there are a few in particular to walk away with:

1) unconditional love. period.
2) a pure appreciation for the great outdoors.
3) utilizing puppy dog eyes to their full potential.
4) the ability to forgive and forget effortlessly.
5) never being afraid to engage in a little tail chasing.

Taking these to heart has brought on the early symptoms of contentment...
